XXXI CONVOCATION

INSTRUCTIONS TO GRADUANDS

 

1. The convocation function will commence at 4:00 p.m., August 12, 2017

 

2. Registration for the convocation function will begin at 10:35 a.m and will close by 1:00 p.m on August 12, 2017.

 

3. No registration will be entertained after 1:00 p.m under any circumstance.   Kindly note that online registration is only to ascertain the strength and cannot be construed as physical on-campus registration. Every student, who has registered online must register on August 12, 2017. Click here for the final list of successfully registered graduands. No new requests will be entertained under any circumstances.

 

4. Those who have not registered online will not be eligible for registration at the venue and can receive their degrees after complying with the procedure which shall be hosted in the website on August 16, 2017.

 

5. Graduands are advised to go to the respective class rooms in VIDYA VIHAR Block, as indicated below for physical registration between 10:35 a.m. and  1:00 p.m. We expect the last graduand to enter the class room by 1:00 p.m.

6. Graduands after completing the Registration in their respective rooms, will collect their gowns and hoods in the same class rooms on payment of Rs.200/-, which is refundable (after deducting a Rs.60/=) on proper return at the same place of collection. Lunch token will also be handed over to each graduand.  Registration for keepsake personal copy of the photo can be done after convocation registration in front of Vidya Vihar till 1:30 p.m. The officially appointed photographer will ensure that photos are dispatched to the address given in the registration form. Kindly visit www.sastra.edu for despatch formalities after the Convocation.

 

7. After collecting the gowns and hoods, the graduands are advised to assemble in the road between Jiva Chaitanya block and Central Library by  3.15 p.m.  You are advised to assemble in the order as given in the Convocation book, a copy of which will be given during the registration.

 

8. The graduands’ march will begin at 3.30 p.m. to ensure that all occupy seats by 3.45 p.m in the respective zones allotted. This is to be meticulously followed to avoid any confusion and delay. No latecomer will be provided seating even if he/she has registered in the venue.

 

9. The graduands are advised to return to their respective seats after receiving the degree and should not leave the convocation venue till the function gets over.

 

10. Gowns and hoods should be returned in the same room from where it was collected.

 

11. Students who would like to stay in the University Guest House may do so by authorizing a representative to submit the Guest House   request form at the Office of the Deputy Registrar(Admn.) (Mr. C. Swaminathan) along with requisite payment. The University Guest House is available for accommodation from 8:00 p.m. on August 11, 2017 to 7:00 p.m. on August 12, 2017. On payment of the prescribed fee, the room can be occupied and will be allotted on a FCFS basis as only limited rooms are available.

 

12. We seek your cooperation for the smooth conduct of the Convocation without making any procedural deviations. Kindly be prepared to stay till 7.00 pm and plan your return trip accordingly.
